Are they small portions? Love to eat.?
Shrimp and grits was expensive and, probably, the best tasting. Crab cakes good. Red and rice was more like refried beans and rice. Tasted by all and zero Cajun seasoning. Jambalaya, ha. More like two "Dodger Dogs" in a bed of Spanish rice. Zero taste. Granted, supposedly under new management but not worth a repeat visit.
MoreHad lunch here with my husband. Service was good. Food was AH-MAZING!!!! Husband had the fried shrimp which appeared to be fresh and not prepacked frozen shrimp that you typically get. It was lightly battered and delicious. I got the pasta dish with shrimp, green onions, and mushrooms in a butter sauce. I was worried about having leftovers because we were heading to down town after (and I never eat my whole meal). Didn't have to worry about that anymore once I tasted it. I ate every single bite! The salad that comes with your meal was really good too. All the veggies were fresh and crisp. We will definitely be back!!!
MoreGreat food. Out of the way place. Their crab cakes and catfish were wonderful!
Service was great and food was even better!
A friend of mine suggested the Cajun Depot Grill and I am glad he did. This is a great, out of the way cafe with very good food. Even though it was lunch time, you have the option to order from the dinner menu. I had the blacken chicken sandwich which was seasoned perfectly. My friend ordered a shrimp dish from the dinner menu and he really enjoyed it. The service was great and the atmosphere was laid back. Give it a try.
MoreSuggest stopping here to eat on your way to or from north ga. We loved everything we ate. The portions were large enough that we left with some left overs. The service was awesome and friendly. The dining room and restroom was very clean. We will for sure be back!
MoreAwesome place, great food at great prices
Visited last year in February. Great Food and even better sevice. Visiting Elijah again this year so, this will definitely be on the places to go list again.
MoreThe food was excellent, freshly prepared. Not a real big place, usually a little wait to get seated. The delicious food makes up for the wait. Very nice and friendly waitresses.
MoreIt's been 10 years since the last time we were there and it is still great!
Not one of my favorite places to eat at but today it was exceptionally good. Shrimp had a light crust on it and was very tasty, roasted red potatoes, all was very good!
MoreLived here for 5 years and this was our first visit here. Why? We have really been missing out on some great food. Small place and it gets crowded quick. So get here early. May not be great for large groups unless you don't mind sitting at different tables. Now to the food... We had the catfish fillet stuffed with crab. Really!? Why haven't I ever tried this before. So dang stinking good. We also had the shrimp alfredo. Must have been 12 to 15 shrimp in this dish. Literally, a shrimp a bite. And yes. It was also good. Did I yell you about the hushpuppies? Make sure you try them. Your gonna enjoy your meal here!
MoreCajun Depot is one of the hidden gems in North Georgia. I have visited there for about 15 years and have never had a bad meal. Every meal that I've had is delicious. The Cajun food is unmatched, possibly even if you were in New Orleans! It is a must try!
MoreToo much money for the food... worth the drive to Cartersville to Appalachian Grill
MoreUnfortunately, disappointed. She was happy with her salad with blackened Salmon atop... My Blackened Chicken Alfredo was disappointing. Chicken wasn't blackened but the Alfredo was added to with seasonings. Portion was meager price was not. No dessert offered, using credit had upcharge added, no prior notice - should be online and Menu, not hard to do. I left hungry, bill over $60. Other cleanliness concerns, watching tables wiped off with tidbits swept onto floor. I looked underneath my table and my feet were on scraps. Thankfully no flies... I miss the former proprietors. My first meal here was the day I proposed to my Wife. I don't make a habit of being critical, though I believe in honesty. Hope they turn things around...
MoreAs a former chef in a long ago past life I learned early on that seafood done right means not overdone and to use fresh ingredients. They get it right here. The number one metric of a restaurant must be good food in order to be successful and get return customers, everything else is just gravy to that main course. Nice atmosphere, good service, friendly staff and reasonable prices are also very important metrics and each are also well represented here. Dishes are not fancy but are presented well, fresh, tasty and very importantly NOT overdone. I'll be returning over and over to this place again as long as they remember their core principals of success.
MoreBest Po-boys by far!!! And if you get the chance try the sweet potato soup!!
Food is outstanding. Super portions. There were 4 of us and we all needed to go boxes. Service was great. I absolutely recommend trying this place out.
MoreVery good food! Big portions and good ambiance.
One of the reliable locally owned eateries in Ellijay, Ga. Quality food and quality service. Far superior to the chain restaurants on the highway in Ellijay.
MoreThe food was amazing! The service was friendly and prompt. I can’t say enough good things about this place. We had po boys, crab cakes, gumbo, burgers and more. It was all delicious!
MoreOne of my favorite spots in Ellijay! The gumbo is outstanding and the blackened chicken with rice is a must-have.
MoreGood food. Goid prices. The best part? Is an owner and staff willing to admit mistakes when they are made. This is a small single dining area establishment. The main reason my wife and I could not comprehend the long wait time to take our order after we had been seated. We were passed over by 2 other parties which came in after us. Upon flagging down the server, and the owner coming to tell us that she had forgotten to add our names, to the seating plot the servers use to know which tables are active, they apologized and offered meal and dessert on the house. So this is one restaurant that sets the example of excellent customer service!!!
MoreCajun. Fish, Shrimp and all the sides. Seasoned collards like you've never had before. Very tasty and seasoned well.
MoreThe bayou platter was great everything individually cooked very well and the put together to be a great meal. It was more than one person could eat. It is really a two person meal. The gumbo was the best thing on the platter. If you are ever in the neighborhood stop in and enjoy a meal.
MoreI ordered the crab cakes and my wife had the fresh grouper. The prices were good, not too high for the area. The service was excellent. Our food was good, but not sure we will be back, we both have had better.
MoreGreat food & great service! The atmosphere is perfect for a date night but causal enough to feel comfortable even if you’ve been enjoying the local outdoor activities.
Morethe best Cajun outside of New Orleans!!!!! ❤️
Great food and wonderful service! Will be back again soon!
Service was great and food was delicious
New owners. Delicious food, outstanding service.
Food was delicious, staff was very friendly and Crystal was an awesome waitress
Extremely expensive for frozen and canned food that’s obviously been microwaved.
MoreWas disappointed. Service slow and my take out shrimp po boy was just meh. Bummer because I love cajun food. Dang! :(
MoreI've been coming here for 20 years now and it only gets better with age. The new partners were part of the original staff when it opened so they know exactly what they are doing and then some ! I just got to experience the new management at work after I got a to go order packed full of delicious food. Everything was so scrumptious that I'm ashamed to say I kept eating long after I was full. I only gave them 5 stars because it wouldn't let me give more. Enjoy !
MoreReally good Cajun food. Nice environment, friendly staff, fair prices. Good Cajun spice as well.
MoreIncompetent people here can’t even keep a simple reservation made way in advanced and they screwed it up don’t waste your time here
MoreAMAZING food! Best blackened tuna ever! Huge portions! Great service!
Non greasy fried seafood. Absolutely delicious. Better than New Orleans food. Didn't have a burnt oil flavor. Every item tastes like what it is.. not French fries that taste like fish etc. Nice atmosphere. Huge portions on the Bayou Platter. Great hushpuppies and gumbo.
MoreThis is easily only of my favorite restaurants. Why? Great food, amazing service, reasonable prices, and a welcoming atmosphere. It doesn't get better than this.
MoreEverything was absolutely fantastic! From the blackened grouper my wife had, to the blackened shrimp over rice I had! Even my son's cheeseburger was awesome. And nobody on the planet knows collard greens more than I. And the spicy collard greens here were the best I've ever had anywhere! Wish I ordered a bucket to take home. Five stars very well deserved for this place. Bottom line, if you go to Ellijay, you've got to stop here! And the service was top notch as well.
MoreGreat atmosphere. Awesome service and even better food. Absolutely loved it. Will be back. Hopefully very soon.
MoreThis is our Favorite restaurant in Ellijay.Love the food...service...staff...Very nice people ,Super food ,Great atmosphere.Im a local and I try to get there once a week.
MoreExcellent food and service. Great flavor without saturating it with seasoning. Kids meals include a drink and portions were large enough for two children or even an adult. Crab cakes were splendid and my Chicken Louise was fantastic. Can't wait to take Momma and the girls. Not really a casual place, but we walked in casually and were very pleased.
MoreAbsolutely phenomenal!! This was by far the most amazing food!! EVERYTHING about this place was 5 stars. Thank you!! We'll be back with the rest of our family. 👍
MoreDelicious authentic family Cajun recipes. This is a must if you like great flavors
MoreGreat authentic food. Didn't have a long wait even though went on a weekend and at half capacity due to covid. Watched them thoroughly clean and wipe down literally everything in the place!! Portions are very filling. Everything looked so good, I didn't know what to try, but definitely wasn't disappointed! Will be back in the future!
MoreI was in Ellijay over the weekend with some family. We all decided on eating here. That was a mistake. I ordered the catfish and was very disappointed. It was dry and flavorless. The french fries we completely soggy and dripping with grease. The only thing that was any good was the hush puppies. No one at our table was satisfied with the what we had ordered. The only reason I gave it a 2 star is for the red beans and rice was very good, if only they gave you more than 2 pieces of sausages.
